FCEMF – Special Touch Chapter in the Valley

Several years ago, I had the honor of ministering regularly at our Special Touch Chapter in Oak Creek. I developed a friendship with a young man with MS who I will call “Ken.” He had an university degree and worked in a local hospital’s lab as a tester. Unfortunately, Ken had to give up his job when he received his diagnosis. This left him feeling hopeless and alone, only to wallow in self-pity. Then Ken started attending the Chapter and soon realized there is hope for people with disabilities. As a result, he decided to go back to work and ask his employer to accommodate his wheelchair and other disability concerns. The hospital graciously agreed and invited Ken back to work.

We’re in the process of planting a Special Touch Chapter right here in the Valley for people like Ken who need to hear a positive message of hope and God’s love. We desperately need volunteers to help this new group.

We are having a meeting on Thr. Aug. 2, at 6:30 p.m. for anyone interested, including those who have disabilities. Jaymee Strickland from Oklahoma will be our guest speaker for the evening. She has a heart for people with disabilities that they are loved, have a purpose and more then that, that God has a plan for them. Please come and hear what she has plan for all of us, it’ll be fun!

We will be meeting at the Appleton Library, Thr. Aug. 2 at 6:30 in the lower level. Please let me know if you’ve any questions.

Hope to see you there!

An update for our MASA supporting churches and pastors,

We are on the last stretch, getting ready for “Oshkosh”, the EAA and AirVenture. We have housing arranged for a few more than 150 individuals and families who will be our guests. Meals have been scheduled to feed our crew and we expect that count-of-meals-served to be over 4,000 by the end of the week. Speakers have been assigned to churches, home Bible Studies service clubs – a total of approximately 60 engagements.

We are still in need of approximately 10 more vehicles that can be loaned to our guests. Many drive their own cars but we have several that arrive from greater distances and need a vehicle.

Please announce the need in your church on Sunday, if possible, and continue to pray for the details to come together for this event. It’s great watching God pull all of these details together.

Send a response on our website at or call 920.725.6631 and leave a message.

Thank you very much.

FCEMF – Second Half Ministry – Reaching the 50+ Generation Conference Saturday August 11, 2012

Does your church have a ministry to reach the 50+ Generation? The U.S. population, age 50+, is exploding at three times the national growth rate. And approximately 58% of those age 50+ have no religious affiliation! Here is your opportunity to equip your leadership to reach Boomers and Builders of the 21st Century . . . .

· “Second Half Ministry: Reaching the 50+ Generation” Saturday, August 11, 9:00am – 3:00pm here at Green Lake Conference Center. Seminar and lunch: $40.50 (plus tax on lunch). Overnight package: $139.50 (plus tax on meals) includes seminar, lodging Friday night and breakfast & lunch on Saturday. To register call 920-294-3323. The three topics are: 1) Passing the Leadership Mantle, 2) Inter-generational Ministry and 3) Challenges and Treasures of the 50+ Generation. A detailed description is on our website: Click on “conferences” then “Pastors and Ministry Leaders” and then scroll down to “Second Half Ministry.”

· “Second Half Ministry Conferences” that I lead for denominations, regions/districts, churches and conferences around the country. A list of seminars is on my website: Last month I was privileged to be the key presenter at the aging conference at Johns Hopkins University and again for the ninth year led three sessions at the Moody Pastors’ Conference. I’m now lining up conference dates for 2013. My latest book, Aging Successfully has just been released and is endorsed by Dr. Paul Nyquist, Dr. Gary McIntosh and Dr. Gene Getz.

Does your church have a ministry to reach the over 50 crowd? The August 11 conference just could spark new interest and enthusiasm.

I would deeply appreciate it if you pass this information on to colleagues and friends.
